Why, Andalucia?
Why did the team at New Village Homes name our first new home community in Gilbert, Andalucia? Well, let us tell you.
First off, Andalucia is a region of the southern coast of Spain. Consequently, beaches and stunning countryside are what it is famous for. Meanwhile, they enjoy unspoiled villages and tiny towns. The architecture in Andalucía reflects the Moorish past of the region at the same time. With that, we have looked to this influence in our use of wrought iron, decorative tiles, and Spanish tile roofs.

Alhambra Palace is one of the extraordinary inspirations behind our new home designs
A little Bit About Alhambra:
On a hill overlooking Granada, in Andalucia, is one of the most celebrated works of architecture. Not only does the Alhambra complex date all the way back to the 9th century CE, it has been built, rebuilt, and remodeled for centuries. At the start, a fortification built simply upon Roman ruins stood there. However, Spain’s Nasrid Dynasty initiated the construction of a grand palace complex in the early 13th century. Still, it is an architectural marvel, and inspiration for our designs for our new homes in Gilbert.
Named after Andalucia Spain, because of the beautiful architecture such as Alcazar Palace, New Village enjoys Spanish influences in the designs
Another structure to note is the Alcázar Palace. As a matter of fact, the royal palace in Seville, Spain, was built for the Christian king, Peter of Castile. Consequently, Castilian Christians built the Palace on the site of an Abbadid Muslim residential fortress. Before that, they destroyed the Muslim complex, following the conquest of Seville. As you can see, the Architecture inspires with its towers, high walls, and beautiful stone.
